Two Languages, One Mind

Chingshin pioneered immersive bilingual education in Taiwan

Academic setting

We treat English as a medium for thinking, arguing, creating, and becoming - a living language, a way of being in the world.

Our students arrive at high school having experienced bilingual education since kindergarten. By tenth grade, they operate fluently in both Mandarin and English - switching between languages not by translation but by instinct.

This is more than linguistic skill. Bilingualism reshapes cognition. Students who think in two languages develop greater cognitive flexibility, stronger executive function, and deeper appreciation for the relationship between language and thought.

In high school, students may add a third language - Spanish, French, German, or Japanese - with the expectation of certification before graduation. Each language opens a different way of organizing reality. Bilingualism reshapes cognition. Students who think in two languages develop greater cognitive flexibility, stronger executive function, and deeper appreciation for how language shapes thought.
