In 1951, a young bride opened a small nursery school for military families who had crossed the strait with nothing but hope. She named it after herself (石靜宜): Chingshin (靜心), a calm heart. Two years later, she passed away at the age of twenty-nine. Though her life was brief, her spirit endured.
